Inmarsat is a system based on a constellation of geostationary satellites whose coverage is global, with the exception of the polar caps in all areas between the 76th parallel north and south, as shown graphically in the next map.
This service is able to provide voice and broadband data even at sea. FleetBroadband, based on the 3G standard, allows, even at sea, simultaneous access to voice and broadband data up to 432 kbps well by e-mail, Internet and intranet.
