The Cobham SATCOM EXPLORER 710 is a compact, lightweight portable satellite streaming BGAN capable of global broadcasting and other IP based industry applications.
This state-of-the-art terminal can provide streaming speeds of over 650 kbps when using high data rate streaming service from Inmarsat.
The EXPLORER 710 also introduces a variety of exciting smart phone apps to BGAN – this enables users to connect their own smartphone devices for voice calling and connectivity purposes. In addition, the EXPLORER 710 includes a USB host interface, hot swappable batteries and multiple interfaces in order to support a wide array of apps and options on an easy-to-use LED display.
The EXPLORER 710 is not just for the individual user with high-data requirements such as video broadcasting: it’s designed to be a rugged, flexible BGAN terminal for your whole team, with a range of functions, capabilities and features to meet any communication challenge. It’s got a powerful WiFi hotspot capability for multiple team members to connect wireless from their laptops or tablets within a 100 meter radius (328 ft), and is smartphone compatible, so you can bring your own device for voice calling and connectivity. This makes your set-up quick and easy, and gets you and your team up and running fast, when critical work needs to be done and you need to be connected.
If you want to double the speed of plug and play bonding, you may connect two EXPORER 710 terminals with an Ethernet cable in order to achieve streaming speeds of over 1Mbps.
With streaming rates that of 32, 64, 128, 176, 256 Kbps, as well as BGAN X-Stream™ at 456 Kbps, the EXPLORER 710 offers a wide range video and audio streaming choices, as well as flexibility for other dataintensive IP-based applications. And as the first portable BGAN terminal able to support BGAN High Data Rate (HDR) full channel option at speeds of up to 650 Kbps, and enhancements like guaranteed Quality of Service (QoS), the EXPLORER 710 makes broadcasting from the field more reliable and robust than ever before. Combined with its new features, such as plug-and-play bonding, you can almost double your throughput and reach speeds of up to 1 Mbps by linking two EXPLORER 710’s with an Ethernet cable. For video news gathering and live broadcasts from remote locations, and data-intensive IP based applications, the EXPLORER 710 is the new gold standard, with speed and features never seen before in a BGAN terminal.
